Using Twitter For Business

It’s important to decide which social media platforms are right for your business and then use them appropriately and at the right times. There is no reason that a business should not be on any social network as they can help bring more traffic to your website and increase brand awareness. Today we’re going to talk about Twitter and how it can benefit your business.

Connect With Anyone

There’s no better way to network with customers and other industry professionals than Twitter. It is a very open platform and you can interact with anybody you like. Your target audience may not follow you but you can always follow them to begin building a relationship. This is where Twitter is a lot better than Facebook. Twitter allows you to interact with people you may never be in a room with or have no mutual connections with, whereas LinkedIn requires you to have connections.

Create Amazing Content

Creating amazing content is vital for businesses on Twitter as it needs to be eyecatching. Write random tips to do with your industry, create videos, ask questions and spark a discussion. The possibilities are endless. To learn more about creating amazing content please read my other blog here.

The Time Is Right!

As Twitter is very “noisy” it is very hard to get heard. Scheduling your posts for when everybody is online is the recommended way to do it however, I find that I get less engagement when I do this. Schedule it 20 minutes before or after most of your audience is online. Even though less of your audience is online to see it, it will stay in the feed for longer as there will be less people posting.

Free Analytics

Lots of people worry about the cost of measuring how well your posts are doing or the hassle that comes along with it, but Twitter has free analytics! On my phone (Sony Xperia Z3) beneath every tweet I write it says “View Tweet Activity” where I can see how many views and clicks my post has gotten. A few people I know have had trouble getting it on iPhone but I’m pretty sure it’s on the latest updates for the Twitter app. If you are on a desktop computer, it is available here.

Using Twitter for business is a no-brainer. It’s simple, free and your audience is neverending. With millions of users using Twitter like a search engine, it’s easy to find questions to answer or for people to ask questions and you answer them.
