“It is great to get some recognition for my work.  When I am squirrelling away in my studio it is sometimes hard to see an ‘end goal’ that isn’t based on monetary success.  HIVE was a project intended to bring art to communities in an unusual form and working with groups in beautiful surroundings such as Rochester Cathedral and Upnor Castle.  I forgot to thank so many people during the ceremony as it was all such a surprise – I felt like a rabbit in the headlights!  Hopefully this award will be just the encouragement I need to push further to the next stage of HIVE.  The project shall be reignited and will move forward as previously intended. ”

“I have been taking big scary sideways leaps with my life to get to this point, and winning this award could not have come at a better time for me. I am moving into the world of creativity and the arts from a background mostly in science, so being in a room celebrating all of that amazing creativity was very inspiring. My new business brings together everything I love best: telling stories about neglected and endangered wild species, beautiful pure linen, sustainability, colour and interiors. I feel I couldn’t be doing this in a better place than Kent for a lot of reasons. I’m chuffed to bits. Thanks again.”
