Project PETE Event summary

Where: King Charles Hotel, Brompton Road, Gillingham, ME7 5QT.

Outline: Strood Community Project and Medway Youth Trust are part of an International Project team working to develop a ‘Toolkit’, for professionals to use with young people making the transition into employment.

Project PETE invites employers and youth professionals to share their wealth of experience of working with, recruiting and employing young people with us.  The input we receive, will help to shape the content of our ‘Toolkit’, which is designed to help young people meet the needs of employers and develop employability and soft skills for life.

Project PETE Brief Summary

Project PETE is working to improve the employability skills and sustainable job prospects of young unemployed people.

Our work is co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme of the European Union and involves six partner organisations, who work together to deliver the project.

Project PETE partners are:

Strood Community Project (Lead Partner)  – Strood, Rochester, Kent, UK.

Medway Youth Trust – Chatham, Kent, UK.

Centre Social Eclate – Saint-Martin-Boulogne, France

Ballymun Job Centre Co-operative Society Ltd. – Dublin, Ireland

Mentor  – Kortrijk, Belgium

Reussir Ensemble l’emploi du Boulonnais – Boulogne sur Mer, France

We are working with young people, employers and youth professionals to:

  • Research, test and analyse the current employment support measures available to young people
  • Innovate on current services and develop a transnational methodology to meet their employment support needs
  • Embed our new & improved methods into existing support structures to help young people to reach their full potential
