Charity V CSR

When big business doesn’t ‘get it’, SMEs can lead the way!

In our previous blog, we explained how we, like you hate the ‘hard sale’ and just want to know about things that will benefit us – not the seller, but what if you don’t realise the potential of your business because you are missing out on a major economic revolution in selling yourselves?

This ‘revolution’ may have been something to do with the banks and recession, but whatever the cause, there is no getting away from the fact that businesses not only need to demonstrate their accounts and experience, tenders are won on the ‘consideration factors’.  This is the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) angle and it can be worth many points in that submitted tender.

But, big business doesn’t necessarily ‘get it’, which is why we want to make sure SMEs can lead the way. Before I say more, here is a little on the differences:

Charity v CSR

Why are we pointing that out?  Well, we have been in contact with some big companies who have explained that they aren’t interested in 4Roles4Goals because they ‘already have a charity of the year’.  For a while, this was an accepted answer, but then in finding out one of those bug companies had previously had ‘Kids Company’ as a former Charity of the Year, and two weeks after talking to another big firm (who donated to a well known charity dealing with poverty) that charity hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, it was a real niggle to us!

“We aren’t offering a ‘charity’ solution for anything, our offer is Corporate Social Responsibility” we thought. Forward many months and last night I had that ‘eureka moment’.  Reality struck – business is not seeing a difference between ‘Charity’ and ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’

We certainly believe that bringing business into their communities is not only a great demonstration of Corporate Social Responsibility, but because it offers a way of investment, it is also a great tool for those businesses to promote themselves and the initiatives and people taking part in them.  Better still, it means SMEs can lead the way in small but meaningful initiatives, such as our scheme, where we are about the longer term collaborations and promotion of all our partners.  We also believe in charity and often take part in sponsored events or pledge funds ourselves, but we don’t ignore CSR in favour of charity and we hope you don’t either.

If you, or a business you know, wants to be a part of the Kent-Wide schemes to bring Careers, Education and new people into your industry, then you should definitely consider the unique offer from 4Roles4Goals.

Find out what we do and how we do it by searching for us on Twitter, FaceBook or Instagram, or pop over to the Dartford FC website and look for us under their community tab.

Alternatively, we are on the Diligence Website – http://diligence-pm-services.co.uk/our-services/4roles4goals/

We think you should love this ethical way to build your business, educate, provide skills for the workplace and build better economies.  You won’t just love the ‘Not For Profit’ business model, but you will benefit from it too!
