Part One – Terry Thorpe
Part Two – Elaine Evans
I started work in John Lewis Oxford Street for Elizabeth Arden. After 18 months, I was asked if I would like to transfer to their Salon in Bond Street. It was a fantastic experience working in such luxurious surroundings dealing with such a huge variety of clients. Six months later I was asked if I would like to train to be a Treatment Specialist (Beautician). I trained with one other girl in their factory, when they had it, in East Acton. There was a lovely atmosphere when training and being able to practice giving treatments on some willing factory staff. When our Trainer was happy with the high standard that we had to attain, we began working in the Salon as fully fledged Treatment Specialists.
