RIFT recognised in top 10 fastest growing companies in Kent

Being recognised as MegaGrowth 50 company is a fantastic accolade. It’s a real achievement to be considered amongst other leading Kent businesses and a testament to the excellence of the RIFT team.

The list of MegaGrowth companies is very inspiring and there’s a fantastic range of talent, technology and business transformation on show. The variety of businesses in Kent has always been strong factor in its prosperity and we’re very proud to be a part of the strong support network for entrepreneurs here. Congratulations to Drink Warehouse from Ramsgate who topped the table this year as the fastest growing private company in Kent.

Last year was the first time that RIFT had been selected for the MegaGrowth list and this year we are in 9th place with 127% growth on 2015. Now in its 15th year, the MegaGrowth 50 list is compiled from the average turnover growth of privately owned businesses that have a minimum turnover of £1m. It is staged by the Kent Messenger Group and sponsored by Lloyds Bank, ASB Law and Kreston Reeves.

2016 has been an exciting year in which we launched our RIFT Legal Services division. The specialist team helps companies comply with the rules around self-employment. You may have seen this covered in the news recently as cases against Uber and the BBC have started to hit start to hit the courts. Not everyone has the time to keep up to date on the latest legal rulings, which is why we’ve built a team to do just that. No one wants to be in the situation where they believe they’ve done everything to be compliant with the law and find out that they aren’t.

Our specialist VGTR Video Games Tax Relief service from our Research and Development Tax Credits division has also got off to a flying start in 2016. The UK video gaming industry is one of the most energetic fields to work in right now, and the government’s Video Game Tax Relief scheme is taking it to a whole new level. Video Game Tax Relief aims to help make games developers more competitive, and VGTR is a new incentive and reward scheme to support British innovation and creativity in this field. It’s a fantastic idea that can see games developers claim up to 25% of development costs back, but as with many schemes, the rules can be pretty complex for smaller companies to handle, not to mention the time a submission can take.
