The best way to get more views on a post or tweet on Social Media is to add an image. This gets the post seen in the noise of our audiences timelines.
Canva is one of my favourite image creation tools. It has set templates for social media, presentations, posters, blogs and more so is very much the go to tool. There is a variety of free things to use in Canva as well as premium, but I find you can get along fine with the free version. You can use different backgrounds, fonts and images as well as the new feature of creating infographics (and who doesn’t love those). It’s free and simple, what more could we ask for?

Picmonkey is best used for photo retouching which is great for promotional pictures or even recycling old images but making them a little different. The free version of picmonkey is okay, the textures do make eye catching backgrounds for social media posts and there is more fonts available than Canva. Upgrading to Royale gives you full benefit of the tools, however it is still mainly based on retouching photos. The skills required for Picmonkey are minimal.
Stock Photos
If you don’t have the time to sit and create a graphic for your blog (it only takes 5 minutes!) then the other option is to source a stock photo. Below I have compiled a list of my favourite stock photo websites. Do not use images without crediting the original owner and without permission as this is an infringement of copyright. Your best bet is to go to a stock photo website and buy it so it is royalty free. This saves the hassle and there’s usually decent photos available for as little as a dollar (the blog itself was free, what harm is a dollar?!)
