Gorillas
12yr old Fashion Designer Josh Birch Jones & Kent based designer Caroline Bruce add a designer twist to a magical night at the Gorillas & Gowns Charity Fashion Show, in aid of the Aspinall Foundations work with gorillas in Congo.
Guests were blown away with an amazing evening of fashion, fun & entertainment at the Gorillas & Gowns Charity Fashion Show, hosted by Amanda Flanders of Butterflies & Dreams Events & Paul Andrews of the Business Bunker radio show, at Port Lympne Hotel, Hythe on Friday 29th September 2017, in aid of the Aspinall Foundations work with Gorillas in Congo.
The money raised is contributing to four western lowland gorilla brothers from Port Lympne Reserve who are bound for Congo as part of The Aspinall Foundation’s Back To The Wild initiative.
This October, The Aspinall Foundation, a world leading conservation charity based in Kent, will transport four western lowland gorilla brothers from Port Lympne Reserve to Congo, in partnership with The Ministry of the Environment and Forest of the government of Congo.
The brothers, Fubu, Kangu, Kebu and Kouyou, aged between 13 and 17 years old are favourites with keepers and visitors alike. Born at Howletts, but currently housed at Port Lympne Reserve, the four boys are preparing for their new life with subtle changes in diet and routine
Fashion designer Caroline Bruce of Caroline Bruce Designs & 12yrs Designer Josh Bartfeld Birchjones stole the show with their outstanding pieces.
Caroline’s collection consisted of a stunning range of demi couture limited edition evening and cocktail dresses with a sophisticated feminine individuality for the forward-thinking woman, allowing them the freedom to express their own individuality through her unique designs. 
Young Josh blew everyone away with his day to night capsule collection bringing back some glamour to the boardroom with his designs and creations, the clever use of corporate structured fabrics and über glamorous silks made for an outstanding display.
The guests, consisting of local business owners, fashion enthusiasts & a few celebrities, including Gemma Collins (of Towie fame) then took part in the auction of creative pledges.
The whole evening was a great success raising the grand sum of £6,500.

‘It was a challenge putting together the whole event, ensuring that everything ran smoothly, especially the fashion show, but it was worth all the effort. The whole evening ran perfectly & every guest had a fantastic time. More importantly we raised money for a great cause, the work the Aspinall Foundation do to help all endangered species is so important, I was really happy we were able to raise a large amount of money for them. Josh is a very talented young man who has a big future ahead of him in the fashion industry, he was a pleasure to work with.’
